Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck announced Monday that running back Bryce Williams will miss the rest of the season after injuring his ankle in a 41-14 win over Northwestern, according to Andy Greder of the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.

The redshirt junior rushed 37 times for 186 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 5 yards per attempt this season.

Williams joins the list of injured Golden Gophers rushers who are out for the year, including top backs Mohamed Ibrahim and Trey Potts. Cam Wiley, meanwhile, entered the transfer portal Oct. 18.

Two freshmen will now be the top options for Fleck. Mar'Keise Irving recorded 66 carries for 355 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Ky Thomas tallied 56 carries for 334 yards and two scores.
