Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim will miss the rest of the season with a lower-leg injury, head coach P.J. Fleck announced Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.
The senior requires surgery and will be out four-to-six months after going down in the third quarter of his team's home opener against Ohio State.
However, the injury was fairly "clean," and Ibrahim is expected to make a full recovery, Fleck said. Prior to going down, Ibrahim recorded two touchdowns and 163 rushing yards in Minnesota's 45-31 loss to the Buckeyes.
Leading Minnesota in rushing last season, Ibrahim tallied 15 touchdowns and 1,076 yards in just seven games for the Golden Gophers.
