Ferentz scorns Nebraska's clapping claims: 'Were they OK with how I dressed?'
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz took exception Friday after his Nebraska counterpart Scott Frost claimed Cameron Jurgens' snapping issues during the Hawkeyes' 26-20 win had nothing to do with the center's play.
"The issue with snaps today, I don't think had anything to do with technique. There was clapping going on on their sideline and Cam heard that clap and thought it was the quarterback clapping," Frost said, according to ESPN's Tom VanHaaren.
Ferentz was not impressed.
"If a player was on the field doing it, I get that," he said. "But what are we talking about? ... The next thing you know, we're going to be treating this like golf. ... nobody is able to say anything, right?"
The Iowa coach continued: "We should just go home right now. What are we talking about? It's football, right? ... Were they OK with how I dressed today? Should I be changing my pants, different shirt?"

Jurgens sent numerous snaps over the heads of quarterbacks Adrian Martinez and Luke McCaffrey in the first half. Despite the errant snaps, Nebraska led 20-13 in the third quarter. But the Cornhuskers were unable to hang on, surrendering 13 unanswered points to close the game.
Iowa moved to 4-2 with the win while Nebraska plunged to 1-4.
