Saturday's a huge day on the gridiron but first, let's preview the trio of games we can bet on Friday.

Here's what you need to know for the slate.

Florida Atlantic @ Florida International (+9.5, 41.5), 7 p.m. ET

Bettors expect a low-scoring game when Florida Atlantic and Florida International meet in the annual Shula Bowl. Oddsmakers opened this total at 43, which quickly dropped to 41.5.

FAU and FIU are No. 109 and 110 in the nation in offensive SP+, respectively. The Owls haven't scored more than 24 points in any of their four games this year, while the Panthers are coming off a 19-10 loss to Jacksonville State and logged 156 - 156! - total yards of offense in the contest.

It pays to be the home team in this series: They're 5-1 against the spread the last six meetings.

Profitable betting trends

  • Florida Atlantic is 6-0 ATS after failing to cover in its previous game
  • Florida International is 5-1 to the over the last six as a home 'dog
  • The over is 4-0 the last four meetings played at FIU

Iowa @ Minnesota (+3.5, 58), 7 p.m.

Bettors hit this total early, pushing the number up from 55 to 58.

Can Minnesota pull off its first upset of the season? The Golden Gophers were notorious for playing spoiler in 2019, winning three games outright as 'dogs. Overall, head coach P.J. Fleck and Co. have covered seven of the last 10 when catching points.

Iowa's been a good bet in this spot under head coach Kirk Ferentz, who's covered 17 of the last 23 games as a road favorite. However, Friday's clash against Minnesota's No. 11-ranked SP+ offense is far and away the toughest test for a defense that's currently top-20 in rushing yards, total yards, and points allowed per game.

Profitable betting trends

  • Iowa is 6-0 to the over the last six Friday games
  • Minnesota is 5-1 to the over the last six as a home underdog
  • The under is 7-3-1 the last 11 meetings

East Carolina @ Cincinnati (-27.5, 55), 7:30 p.m.

If you've faded Cincinnati lately, my sincerest condolences.

The Bearcats have been free money for three straight weeks. They boat raced SMU, Memphis, and Houston, running up a plus-96 scoring margin despite not closing higher than -10.5 in any of those contests.

Following three big wins over formidable opponents, Cincinnati's now laying close to four touchdowns over East Carolina, its largest spread over an FBS team all season. Is this the week the Bearcats take the foot off the gas?

East Carolina's got something cooking with second-year head coach Mike Houston. He and the Pirates nearly upended the Bearcats last season as 25-point home 'dogs but fell short, 46-43. They're on the road for this one, but ECU likes this spot: It's on a 5-0 run ATS as a road underdog.

Profitable betting trends

  • ECU is 1-7 ATS the last eight Friday games
  • Cincinnati is 8-1 to the under the last nine conference games
  • The home team is 4-0 ATS the last four meetings
