Upset of the week: Memphis (+3.5 vs. UCF)

Central Florida's earned some support from the betting markets for the Week 7 clash against AAC rival Memphis. The line moved off the key number of -3 earlier in the week and currently sits -3.5.

The last time the Knights took the field, they lost to Tulsa for the second year in a row. The initial knee-jerk reaction might be to buy low on a team that's rarely a single-digit favorite, but I can't get on board with it. Frankly, the Knights have historically been terrible in this spot.

UCF's been making life difficult for bettors lately - the program is currently on a dreadful 0-5 run against the spread following a loss. Furthermore, the Knights are 1-5 ATS the last six conference games and 4-9 ATS the last 13 overall.

Truthfully, Memphis hasn't impressed me yet. The Tigers are neutral in net yards per play and have yet to really light up the scoreboard like we're accustomed to seeing. But with the squad coming off a bye week, let's hope the coaching staff has worked out the kinks to get this potent unit running like a well-oiled machine.

Part of the reason I like Memphis in this tilt is the ability to match UCF's speed. The pace won't catch the Tigers off guard, either, considering they played a run-and-gun SMU unit just two weeks ago.

I recommend fading the Knights and grabbing a piece of the Tigers, who are 13-6-1 ATS over the last 20 home games.
