TCU's regular-season opener against SMU on Sept. 11 has been postponed after players and support staff for the Horned Frogs tested positive for COVID-19, school athletic director Jeremiah Donati announced Friday.

"We are disappointed to announce that our upcoming football game against SMU will not be played as scheduled on Sept. 11," Donati wrote.

The two teams will monitor dates in which they can make up the game.

TCU will move on to its conference opener against Iowa State on Sept. 26. SMU will open its season this Saturday against Texas State.
