Georgia will be without one of its top receivers next season as the Bulldogs have dismissed Jeremiah Holloman, head coach Kirby Smart confirmed to Jackie Gutknecht of The Covington News on Friday.

An investigation into Holloman's involvement in an April 2018 assault was opened earlier in June.

"Jeremiah Holloman no longer represents the University of Georgia football program," Smart said in a statement. "We expect every member of our team to uphold the highest standards and values of the University of Georgia and Georgia football. It is disappointing when this does not happen."

A female victim told authorities Holloman choked and punched her in the face after an argument, according to a campus police report obtained by Gutknecht. Holloman admitted to hitting the victim, according to the report, saying he did so after the victim began hitting him. The victim did not pursue a criminal case against the sophomore, the report stated.

With Riley Ridley and Mecole Hardman not returning next season, Holloman was poised for a larger role in 2019. He hauled in 24 passes for 418 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games last season.
