Two-sport collegiate star Kyler Murray announced Monday that he's declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Murray, an outfielder in baseball, was selected ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics in last June's MLB draft. He signed a contract with Oakland that allowed him to play one final season of college football at Oklahoma before switching to baseball full time.

However, after winning the 2018 Heisman Trophy as a quarterback while leading Oklahoma to the College Football Playoff, Murray informed the A's that he'll enter April's NFL draft and intends to play football, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Murray's currently projected to be anywhere between a first- and third-round pick in a shallow class for draft-eligible quarterbacks.

The A's reportedly made a last-ditch effort to convince Murray to choose baseball by offering up more guaranteed money. Team representatives reportedly met with Murray on Sunday.

As part of his contract with the Athletics, Murray received a $4.66-million signing bonus.
