As his team approaches one of the biggest games on the college football calendar, Michigan running back Karan Higdon is as confident as can be.

He's even going as far as to guarantee a victory against No. 10 Ohio State on Saturday.

"Yeah, I do. I do," Higdon told Nick Baumgardner of the Detroit Free Press. "That's how I feel. I believe firmly in my brothers, this team and this coaching staff.

"As a captain, I'll take that stand. Why not?"

The No. 4-ranked Wolverines can win the Big Ten East for the first time in team history and advance to the Big Ten championship game with a victory.

The Buckeyes have won each of the last six meetings between the rival schools, and 12 of the last 13. The senior rusher knows Saturday's tilt is Michigan's most important to date.

"It's a must-win," Higdon said. "We've got some lofty goals we set for ourselves early on and they're a team that's standing in our way to achieve them."

Higdon has totaled 1,106 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns this season.
