UCF's Milton blasts Notre Dame: 'You can't tell me' they're better than us

UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton doesn't see any scenario in which his team should be left out of the College Football Playoff, especially for Notre Dame.

Milton pointed to the two squads' common opponent in 2018 - Pittsburgh - to justify his reasoning. The Knights defeated the Panthers by 31 in October, while the Irish won by just five in their matchup two weeks later.

"You look at the (Pittsburgh) film against us and Notre Dame," Milton told Bleacher Report's Matt Hayes. "You can't tell me Notre Dame is a better team than us."

When asked if he saw a difference between the two games, the junior passer replied: "Oh, I see a difference. We're better."

"Notre Dame scored late to beat Pitt, and you hear the committee talk about how great it was for them to pull it out," he continued. "Then what we did to Pitt is ignored."

UCF is currently on a 22-game winning streak, the longest in the nation. The Knights went undefeated in 2017 but didn't earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. That didn't stop them from declaring themselves national champions.

This season, UCF and Notre Dame are two of four remaining undefeated teams. The Irish currently rank third in the CFP rankings, while Milton's squad sits at No. 11.
