AP Poll: Michigan, Georgia creep toward top 3, West Virginia ascends

Michigan and Georgia were two beneficiaries of LSU's loss to Alabama Saturday in Sunday's AP Poll, as the Wolverines and Bulldogs ascended to fourth and fifth in the rankings, respectively. The Tigers slid to ninth.

West Virginia jumped from No. 12 to No. 7 after a thrilling victory over Texas, while Syracuse climbed nine spots to No. 13.

Iowa State made its top-25 debut in 2018, one of five new members to this week's poll. Washington, N.C. State, Michigan State, and Cincinnati were the others.
