Florida State HC: Changes coming after some players quit in Clemson drubbing
Florida State suffered their worst home loss in school history on Saturday and head coach Willie Taggart believes some of his players quit during a 59-10 blowout at the hands of Clemson.
"That can't be tolerated. One thing you can't do, you can't quit. You quit, you don't play," Taggart said postgame, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson.
"So we've got to do a great job of making sure we've got the right guys. Didn't play well at all. That's on me and our coaches and our players and everybody that's here, and we've got to find a way to get that right."
The Seminoles and Tigers were held scoreless after one quarter, but the floodgates opened in the second quarter. Clemson went into halftime up 28-0. Florida State mustered little defense the rest of the way.
"We're going to find the guys that quit, and we're going to find the guys that kept playing and make sure that we keep those guys in there. So there will be some changes come next week," Taggart said.
It's been a trying first season in Tallahassee for Taggart. Florida State now owns a 4-4 record and has lost to every ranked opponent they've faced.
