Georgia freshman running back Zamir White suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, a team source told Marc Weiszer of onlineathens.com.

White was ranked 15th overall in the 2018 recruiting class by ESPN.

"I’m sick for the kid because I don’t know the severity of the injury," head coach Kirby Smart said before the MRI results were known.

White had been wearing a brace on his right knee while recovering from a torn ACL suffered during his final year of high school, but Smart said he was "safe to practice."
