Ohio State investigators are expected to meet with Zach Smith next week, his attorney confirmed to ESPN's Dan Murphy.

Smith was fired in July after his history of domestic incidents was brought to light.

The investigative team has been tasked with determining how much head coach Urban Meyer knew and reported to his superiors about a case involving Smith in 2015. Smith wasn't ultimately charged for the incident. Meyer, meanwhile, is currently on paid leave.

Ohio State began its investigation into Meyer at the beginning of August, and the probe is expected to be completed by the end of next week.

Smith was also arrested - but not charged - following a domestic incident in 2009 while he was on Meyer's staff at Florida. Smith appeared in court in July 2018 for a criminal trespassing citation, where his ex-wife, Courtney, filed a protective order against him.

Smith previously said he believes Meyer followed school protocol, as the latter has insisted, when he was notified of the incident in 2015.
