The NCAA is expected to add three new bowl games for the 2020 season following recommendations from the competition committee, sources told college football insider Brett McMurphy.

Chicago and Myrtle Beach are near locks to host two of the new bowl games, but the third is still being decided, though Arizona State has expressed interest, added McMurphy.

The bowl game in Chicago would be hosted at Wrigley Field and feature the Big Ten against the ACC. Meanwhile, Conference USA, the Sun Belt, or the Mid-American are the likely conferences to be affiliated with the bowl game in Myrtle Beach.

The expected expansion will mean that a record 43 bowl games will be held in 2020.
