Report: Northwestern to face Wisconsin at Wrigley Field in 2020

Ten years after falling to Illinois in the "Wrigleyville Classic," Northwestern will return to the same historic baseball stadium to face Wisconsin during the 2020 season.

According to Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune, the two schools will meet at Wrigley Field on Nov. 7, 2020 at the home of Major League Baseball's Chicago Cubs. The news is expected to become official next week.

At the Northwestern-Illinois contest in 2010, the tight configuration of the field near the right-field wall meant both offenses played toward the same end zone due to safety concerns.

However, renovations have since made a more traditional football field possible inside the stadium.

The game at Wrigley Field will be the second unique contest for the Badgers during the 2020 season, as the program is also slated to play Notre Dame at Lambeau Field in Green Bay earlier in the schedule.
