South Carolina lands state's top player, 4-star DE Zacch Pickens

South Carolina outdid rival Clemson to secure the state's top recruit, four-star defensive end Zacch Pickens.
Pickens is the 25th-ranked overall recruit on the ESPN 300 for 2019, and the No. 5 prospect at his position. He announced his commitment Friday.
"It just felt like home," he told Lake Morris the Greenville News of his decision to join South Carolina. "I was just tired of waiting. I've known I was going to go (there) for a while."
The commitment makes Pickens the Gamecocks' top-rated recruit for the 2019 cycle thus far. Alabama and Georgia were also vying for the services of the 6-foot-4, 265-pound defender.
