Miami coach Richt gifted custom 'turnover chain' kicks

Miami's "turnover chain" - a 10-karat gold necklace placed around the neck of players who force a turnover during a game - was a big hit last season.

The chain was so popular it received its own bobblehead. And now it's inspired this custom pair of Adidas Ultra Boost sneakers, recently gifted to Hurricanes head coach Mark Richt.

Hurricanes defensive coordinator Manny Diaz said in December that the chain will return for 2018, perhaps with some changes.

"You got one of the best things in college football. I know our recruits would be disappointed (if it was retired)," Diaz said, according to Barry Jackson and Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald. "It may come back in a different version. We don't know. It's mysterious. We don't really know what happens with it. We will see what develops with it."
