The future home-and-home series between Michigan and Virginia Tech has been cancelled as the Wolverines announced Thursday that they've bought out of the agreement.

Michigan will pay Virginia Tech $375,000 to cancel the games scheduled to be played during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

With the removal of the contest versus the Hokies on the 2021 schedule, Michigan's game against Washington originally scheduled for Sept. 18 will be moved to Sept. 11.
