Syracuse acquired an explosive running back Monday, as the school announced Abdul Adams has transferred to the program from Oklahoma.

Adams, who spent two years with the Sooners, will sit out the 2018 campaign to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, before becoming eligible again for the first of two seasons in 2019.

The Durham, N.C., native rushed for 542 yards and a touchdown last season, but remained stuck behind Rodney Anderson and Trey Sermon on the depth chart.

Syracuse has yet to produce a 600-yard rusher in two seasons under head coach Dino Babers.
