Shane Beamer appears to be making the move west, as sources told ESPN's Chris Low that the son of legendary coach Frank Beamer is leaving the staff at Georgia to become assistant head coach for offense at Oklahoma.

Beamer has been with the Bulldogs the past two seasons as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach after previously serving under his father at Virginia Tech. The elder Beamer currently serves on the CFP selection committee and by rule had to recuse himself during any conversation about Georgia during its meetings.

The 40-year-old was on the Bulldogs' sideline for the epic Rose Bowl win over Oklahoma but will be on the other bench should the two teams meet again. Beamer will be involved with tight ends at Oklahoma and also assisting head coach Lincoln Riley in preparing the Sooners' offensive game plan on a weekly basis.
