Florida State's Taggart finalizes staff, officially names Bell OC
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Florida State coach Willie Taggart has completed his coaching staff with the announcement of five new hires on Friday, including an offensive coordinator.
Walt Bell, who has been at Maryland the past two seasons, will be the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He held the same position with the Terrapins and also at Arkansas State in 2014 and 2015.
The other additions are Greg Frey (offensive line/run game coordinator), David Kelly (wide receivers/recruiting coordinator), Mark Snyder (defensive ends) and Alonzo Hampton (special teams).
Taggart, who was named the 11th head coach in school history on Dec. 6, retained only one coach from Jimbo Fisher's staff - defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins. The rest of the staff is Harlon Barnett (defensive coordinator/secondary), Raymond Woodie (linebackers), Telly Lockette (tight ends) and Donte' Pimpleton (running backs).
