The Whitman County Coroner's office confirmed Thursday that former Washington State quarterback Tyler Hilinski took his own life when he was found dead earlier in the week.

Police found Hilinski dead in his apartment Tuesday with gun and suicide note beside him. They were called to check in on him after he mysteriously failed to show up to practice.
