Rutgers welcomed a familiar face back to the program Tuesday, as head coach Chris Ash announced former Scarlet Knights offensive coordinator John McNulty has returned to fill the same role.

"I’m excited to welcome John back to the Rutgers football family," said Ash. "He has a wealth of football knowledge and experience, and I look forward to him helping develop our quarterbacks. John is a great leader, man, and coach, and I’m excited to see him shape the identity of our offense."

McNulty previously served as the Scarlet Knights' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2007-08 under then-head coach Greg Schiano. The 49-year-old spent the past two seasons as tight ends coach with the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers.
