Arizona will have to wait a little longer to find its next head coach.

After days of speculation regarding the most popular candidate to date, Navy bench boss Ken Niumatalolo is no longer considering the job and will remain with the Midshipmen moving forward, Navy athletic director Scott Strasemeier confirmed Sunday.

Niumatalolo later confirmed the decision in a text message sent to Heather Dinich of ESPN.

"After much prayer and pondering, it has become crystal clear the USNA is a special place with special people and I LOVE IT HERE!!! Plus I have unfinished business to finish," Niumatalolo said.

Niumatalolo had emerged as the primary candidate to replace former Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez, and it was even claimed he had been offered the job before a subsequent report stated the position had not been offered to anyone.

The 52-year-old has an 84-48 overall record at Navy since taking over as head coach for the Midshipmen's 2007 Poinsetta Bowl appearance.
