Arizona's Tate voices support for DC Marcel Yates in HC search

Khalil Tate won't have the final say in who Arizona ultimately hires as its next head coach, but he is going to make his voice heard.

The Arizona quarterback voiced his support for Wildcats defensive coordinator Marcel Yates via Twitter on Friday, as the team continues its search to find a replacement for former bench boss Rich Rodriguez.

The tweet comes after reports surfaced that Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo is believed to be a strong candidate for the job. Tate also fired off a somewhat cryptic tweet that he has since deleted.

Niumatalolo has been known to run the triple option offense at Navy in recent years, however, Rodriguez has also been known to use variations of a spread option offense as well.

With Tate's preference, or lack thereof, in offensive strategy now public, Arizona could find itself with a problem if the man they hire does not match up with its quarterback's outlook.
