Oklahoma's Anderson will not face charges following rape allegation

Cleveland County district attorney Greg Mashburn announced Thursday that Oklahoma's Rodney Anderson will not face charges after being accused of rape by a woman who filed a protective order against him earlier this month, according to George Schroeder of USA TODAY Sports.

Mashburn delivered the statement after what he said was a "thorough investigation," according to Schroeder.

Anderson, who led the Sooners in rushing this season, first had a protective order filed against him by a 23-year-old female and former Oklahoma student on Dec. 4. In the order, the woman accused Anderson of raping her on Nov. 16 after going to multiple bars with the player and a group of his friends.

The woman stated in the order: "I remember feeling like I couldn’t get away. He knows where I live and I’m scared for my safety." Anderson's attorney told police last Friday the woman had approached police only after Anderson had turned away her requests "to pursue a relationship."

After taking to Twitter to profess his innocence, Anderson voluntarily accepted a polygraph exam following the order. The test was administered by retired FBI polygraph examiner Bill Brown.

Brown later reported Anderson "denied the allegations" and "was not practicing deception in his replies to relevant questions asked of him on this test."
