Florida State president: 'Jimbo's here forever'

The silly season for the college football coaching carousel is upon us, with Wednesday's report that Texas A&M is interested in Florida State's Jimbo Fisher grabbing the most headlines.

It seemed far-fetched that Fisher would leave the Seminoles to join the Aggies, and if it's up to Florida State President John Thrasher, the 2014 National Champion won't be going anywhere.

"Jimbo's here forever," Thrasher told Tia Mitchell of the Florida Times-Union. "You know, as long as he wants to be, he's good. He's as good as gold. He's going to be here."

The 2017 season has been a massive disappointment for the injury-riddled Seminoles, as the team sits 3-6 on the campaign, by far the worst season in Fisher's tenure. With such a young roster, it's more than likely Fisher will bounce back with another solid run in 2018.

The 52-year-old has piled up an impressive 81-23 record with the Seminoles, and while Texas A&M may come calling, it appears the school will do all they can to keep him on campus.
