Five-star quarterback Justin Fields, who committed to Georgia earlier this month, suffered a broken finger on his throwing hand this week, he confirmed to Tom VanHaaren of ESPN.

Fields is the No. 1-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the ESPN 300 for the class of 2018.

The future Bulldogs pivot noted he will be in a cast for six weeks before needing physical therapy for six more.

Fields passed on notable offers from the likes of Florida State, LSU, and Alabama, in favor of Georgia.
