Alabama remains overwhelming favorite to win national title
After an upset-laden weekend in college football, Alabama is an even bigger favorite to win the College Football Playoff in January.
The Crimson Tide rolled to yet another blowout win, this time with Arkansas the victim, and saw their odds move to 4-5 in the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook's latest figures.
Clemson's stunning loss to Syracuse saw the Tigers move from 4-1 all the way to 8-1, with Ohio State jumping over them into the second spot at 7-2. Penn State moved up to No. 2 in the AP Poll, and now sits with the fourth-lowest odds at 12-1, while Georgia and Wisconsin sit at 20-1 to win the title.
Team | Odds on Oct. 1 | Current odds |
---|---|---|
Alabama | 6-5 | 4-5 |
Ohio State | 8-1 | 7-2 |
Clemson | 4-1 | 8-1 |
Penn State | 15-1 | 12-1 |
Georgia | 18-1 | 20-1 |
Wisconsin | 20-1 | 20-1 |
USC | 15-1 | 25-1 |
Oklahoma | 10-1 | 25-1 |
Oklahoma State | 30-1 | 25-1 |
TCU | 30-1 | 25-1 |
The Bulldogs, Badgers and TCU represent great value on the board, as the three programs remain undefeated through Week 7 action. Wisconsin has a very favorable schedule left and will be a lock for the CFP should they win the Big Ten title.
Georgia would have to unseat Alabama in the SEC Championship game should they reach that point, but a Bulldogs win would likely see them take the No. 1 spot in the country heading in to the playoffs.
