Michigan's Harbaugh frustrated with school-record 16 penalties
Michigan came away with a victory over Indiana on Saturday, but Jim Harbaugh was not pleased with everything.
The Wolverines committed 16 penalties against the Hoosiers, something Harbaugh specifically made a focal point of trying to eliminate.
"I tell my 6-year-old not to spill the milk. And, gosh darn, the next thing that happens is spilled milk," Harbaugh said, according to Dan Murphy of ESPN. "(I say) 'No penalties, no penalties.' Try to coach them how to not get the penalties, and we're getting penalties. So we have to grow there. That's an area we have to grow and get better."
Things got so bad at one point Michigan was called for three fouls on one play. The Wolverines were flagged for offside, holding, and a late hit all on one defensive snap in the first half.
Michigan blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, but escaped with the overtime win.
