Another chapter has been written in the story of former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla.

A Washington County judge sentenced Lyerla to serve an additional 30 days in jail Tuesday following an attempted escape from custody on May 5, according to Everton Bailey Jr. of The Oregonian.

Judge D. Charles Bailey also ordered Lyerla to meet with him every three weeks in order to gauge his progress and carry out the rehabilitation process.

Lyerla acknowledged that he has "a problem that I have to deal with," adding that he has accepted Bailey's challenge to get sober.

At the time of his escape, Lyerla had been serving a six month sentence for first- and second-degree forgery that he had begun serving in April.
