Georgia is hoping it's found a future star at running back.

The Bulldogs secured a commitment from Zamir White on Tuesday, the nation's top-ranked running back in the 2018 class, according to the ESPN 300. White was also being pursued by Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, and several other programs.

A North Carolina native, White also boasts the second-highest ranking in the state behind defensive end K.J. Henry.

White should have a chance to see the field quickly in Athens, as both Nick Chubb and Sony Michel are heading into their senior seasons at Georgia.

Needless to say, it's a huge get for head coach Kirby Smart and Co., as the Bulldogs won't miss a beat at running back. Transitioning from Todd Gurley to Chubb to White is a coach's dream.

The 2018 campaign may be one where it finally all comes together for Georgia. In addition to White, the Bulldogs will also have the No. 1 quarterback from the 2016 season at the helm in Jacob Eason, and Smart will have had plenty of time at that point to build up the program via recruiting.
