Syracuse cornerback Devin Butler was carted off the field Thursday with an unspecified injury, according to Stephen Bailey of the Post Standard.

Butler joined the Orange as a graduate transfer from Notre Dame in December 2016, having been a reserve with the Fighting Irish for much of his career.

The senior was accused of resisting arrest and battery against a law enforcement officer during the summer of 2016, pleading guilty to resisting law enforcement, a misdemeanor.

Butler, a former four-star recruit and the 188th-best player in the 2013 recruiting class, was expected to contribute immediately for the Orange.
