Mark Richt pledged to keep all of Miami's best high school players in the city when he took the Hurricanes job prior to last season, and he took a step in that direction Monday by landing 4-star receiver Mark Pope.
The Miami Southridge Senior High School product announced his commitment to the school for the class of 2018, joining fellow four-star wideouts Brian Hightower and Daquris Wiggins.
Pope is ranked as the 38th-best receiver prospect in his class, and is listed as the 238th-best overall player on the ESPN 300.
The 6-foot, 163-pounder held offers from a number of Power 5 programs including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, and Nebraska, but is opting to stay close to home with his commitment to Miami.
