Right when it looked like Clemson was getting back into the national championship game, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts found tight end O.J. Howard wide open down the field for a 68-yard touchdown.

The touchdown extended Alabama's lead to 24-14, shortly after the Tigers had scored a touchdown to get to within three points.

The play was the longest of Howard's career, and the longest pass Clemson has surrendered this season.

Howard was Alabama's leading receiver in last year's title bout, hauling in five receptions for 208 yards and two touchdowns.
