West Virginia's Devin Williams declares for NBA draft
West Virginia forward Devin Williams announced Tuesday that he is throwing his name into the 2016 NBA Draft.
"This is something I've thought about over and over, and I believe that this is the best decision for me and my family," Williams said. "I can't say enough about the three years I have had at West Virginia University. At the same time, I'm grateful to be in this position to be able to fulfill a lifelong dream."
Williams averaged 13.3 points and 9.5 rebounds in his junior season for a Mountaineers squad that spent much of the season in the top 10 of the AP Poll. His 16 double-doubles earned him a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team.
Williams did not reveal whether he's hired an agent or plans to do so. If he goes without representation, he'll be eligible to withdraw from the draft by May 25 and return to West Virginia for his senior campaign.
