Duke's Amile Jefferson will not return this season, to seek medical redshirt
Amile Jefferson's season is over.
Duke announced that the forward will not return this season due to a foot injury. Jefferson hasn't played since early December.

The Blue Devils will seek a medical redshirt for Jefferson, who is one of Mike Krzyzewski's most important players. The senior was averaging a double double this season, posting 11.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
Marshall Plumlee will continue to take on an expanded role in the frontcourt with Jefferson not returning.
Duke was no doubt holding out hope that Jefferson could return for the NCAA tournament, but if he's granted the waiver, it would be a big boost to next year's squad.
