Louisville student suing author and publisher of book about escort scandal
Just when it looked like the Louisville escort story couldn't get any stranger, a student is suing Katina Powell, the escort that co-authored the book "Breaking Cardinal Rules," and the book's publisher.
The suit, filed by Kyle Hornback, says the book tarnished the university's reputation and the value of her education in turn, according to The Courier-Journal's Andrew Wolfson.
The suit also asks all book sale profits to be placed with a receiver in the court's clerk office. Hornback's lawyer, Nader George Shunnarah, is seeking a class-action suit on behalf of all Louisville students.
Louisville coach Rick Pitino said Thursday morning that he would not resign over the allegations that an ex-staffer paid escorts to engage in sexual activities with recruits and players.
