Former Georgetown standout Patrick Ewing Jr. is joining the men's basketball staff as the director of basketball operations, the school announced Tuesday.
Ewing is the son of former Georgetown All-American, and NBA Hall of Famer, Patrick Ewing.
"Even as a player, Patrick 'saw' the game through the eyes of a coach," head coach John Thompson III said. "I'm very glad to have Patrick come back home and to be part of the staff."
Upon his graduation in 2008, Ewing was drafted in the second round by the Sacramento Kings. He went on to spend time with the Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and New Orleans Hornets, in addition to stints in Germany, Spain, Greece, and Qatar.
