Georgia, Mark Fox agree to 2-year contract extension
Georgia head men's basketball coach Mark Fox has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the university that will keep him in Athens through the 2019-20 season.
The news came as part of a press release announcing the 2016 budget for Georgia's athletics program.
"Six years ago I envisioned that together we could heal and build a great basketball program at the University of Georgia," Fox said in a statement. "The collective efforts of many people now allow us to praise our team on the court, in the classroom, and in our community. This pride, along with the passion of the Dawg Nation, provide great energy as we strive to achieve even higher levels of success."
The Bulldogs earned a bid in the NCAA tournament for the second time in Fox's tenure this past season after compiling a 21-12 record. In his six years with the program, Georgia is 105-88.
