Wisconsin's Sam Dekker declares for NBA draft
Wisconsin forward Sam Dekker has declared for the NBA draft, he announced over Twitter on Friday.
"After lots of thoughts and prayers, I've decided that it is in my best interest to enter the NBA Draft at this time," Dekker said in a statement. "It is difficult to leave Madison and the only state I've called home, but I'm excited for the next chapter of my life."
Dekker averaged 13.9 points and 5.5 rebounds as a junior before really upping his game in the NCAA tournament. In helping the Badgers to their first national championship game appearance since 1941, Dekker averaged 19.2 points, setting career highs in scoring in back-to-back games in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight.
Dekker is considered a fringe lottery pick and is currently ranked as the No. 15 prospect by DraftExpress.
