Video shows conduct which led to termination of Bowling Green's Chris Jans

Bowling Green has fired first-year head coach Chris Jans after an investigation by the school.

"Jans was terminated following an investigation into his recent public conduct," the school said in a statement. "The university concluded that Jans' public conduct failed to meet his obligations as a head coach and the expectations that BGSU Athletics has for its coaches."

Although the school didn't specify the conduct in question, termination letters obtained by Deadspin indicate that Jans sexually harassed several women while at an off-campus bar the night Bowling Green's season ended.

At least one person recorded the incident on their camera phone. There are no charges pending currently.

One witness to the incident sent a lengthy email to Bowling Green athletics director Christopher Kingston asking for the institution to resolve the matter.

Jans became the 16th head coach in program history in March 2014 after spending seven years at Wichita State - four seasons as assistant coach and three seasons as an associate head coach.

Assistant coach Mark Downey will lead the program during the search for its 17th head coach.
