Northern Iowa's Ben Jacobson signs new 10-year deal
Northern Iowa head basketball coach Ben Jacobson signed a new 10-year contract with the program.
The deal will pay Jacobson roughly $900,000 per year, and will keep him with the Panthers through 2024-25. Northern Iowa athletic director Troy Dannen announced the deal Thursday.
The Panthers entered the NCAA tournament as a No. 5 seed, beating No. 12 Wyoming in the Round of 64 before losing to No. 4 Louisville in the Round of 32.
Northern Iowa finished 31-4 this past season, including a 16-2 mark in the Missouri Valley Conference.
"It's the perfect fit," Jacobson said. "We continue to move ahead with resources that allow us to raise the bar."
Jacobson accepted his current position with Northern Iowa in 2006, and has led the Panthers to the NCAA tournament in three of nine seasons.
