Guards Rayvonte Rice and Aaron Cosby have been suspended indefinitely for violating unspecified team rules, Illinois announced in a release Saturday.
"Hopefully they will make better choices and make the necessary progress to rejoin our lineup," said head coach John Groce.
Rice is averaging 17.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, making him the Illini's leading player.
Cosby has 32 3-pointers, the second-most on the team, and is fourth in scoring with 7.8 points per game.
