NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Michigan at Michigan
Ann Arbor, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jodan Price came off the bench to score 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting as the Eastern Michigan Eagles hung on down the stretch to defeat the Michigan Wolverines, 45-42, in non-conference play at Crisler Center.
Karrington Ward chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds for Eastern Michigan (8-1). Mike Talley added nine points with six assists in the win.
Caris LeVert and Zak Irvin each scored 10 points to lead Michigan (6-3), which has dropped back-to-back non-conference games. Derrick Walton Jr. netted nine points with six boards and five assists in the defeat.
Michigan held a 21-19 advantage at the intermission after the Wolverines connected on 26.3 percent of their shots, but made 10-of-13 from the free- throw line. Eastern Michigan could only muster a 24 percent shooting touch in the first frame.
But it was the Eagles who came alive in the second half, netting 42.9 percent of their attempts from the floor, including 4-of-9 from 3-point range. Michigan made 37.5 percent of its tries from the field. An Irvin 3-point attempt at the buzzer that would have tied the score rimmed out, handing Michigan its second consecutive loss.
Eastern Michigan owned a 36-27 advantage on the glass in the win, and held a 26-11 edge in bench scoring as well.
