VIDEO: Samford signs 7-year old with CLOVES syndrome
The Samford Bulldogs performed a terrific good deed on Tuesday, signing seven-year old Nathaniel "Biggie" Henderson to a letter of intent at a press conference.
Henderson suffers from CLOVES syndrome, an extremely rare and variable disorder. In Biggie's case, "CLOVES manifests itself through complex vascular abnormalities and masses along with severe overgrowth on the right side of his body."
It's yet another good-will signing by a college outfit, following up Xavier signing a 12-year old with a neurodegenerative disease, Bradley signing a pair of brothers, one of whom has neuroblastoma, and last year, St. Louis signing a nine-year old fan with a brain tumor.
This type of story is great and really speaks to the positive that sports can do.
