Purdue's Zach Edey captured back-to-back Naismith Player of the Year Awards on Sunday.

The 7-foot-4 center becomes the first player to win multiple Naismith trophies since 1983 when Ralph Sampson captured the award for a third time in a row while starring at Virginia. The only other player to win the award multiple times is UCLA alumnus Bill Walton.

Edey dominated his senior season at Purdue, averaging 24.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 38 games. With Edey at the helm, Purdue won its second-straight Big Ten regular-season title.

The Canadian already won his second straight AP Player of the Year Award on Friday and is a finalist for the 2024 Wooden Award.

The Boilermakers defeated North Carolina State in the Final Four on Saturday night and will play for a chance to win their first NCAA championship Monday against UConn.

Edey has been exceptional in Purdue's run to the title game, averaging 28 points and 15.4 rebounds through their five NCAA Tournament matches.
