Texas men's basketball head coach Shaka Smart has tested positive for COVID-19, he announced Monday.

Smart added he's in isolation and working remotely away from the team and his family.

Texas currently ranks fifth in the nation with an 11-2 record and a 5-1 mark in Big 12 competition. The team had a pair of games postponed last week due to COVID-19 protocols, and three players - Greg Brown, Kai Jones, and Brock Cunningham - missed their squad's last contest on Jan. 16 because of health regulations.

The Longhorns have two games scheduled for this week. They're set to host Oklahoma on Tuesday and visit Kentucky on Saturday. Texas then faces a stiff test with a matchup against No. 2 Baylor on Feb. 2. Smart will likely be unavailable to man the sidelines for all three of those contests.
