Arizona imposed a one-year postseason ban on its basketball team in response to the NCAA's ongoing investigation into the program, the school announced Tuesday.

"The decision is an acknowledgment that the NCAA's investigation revealed that certain former members of the MBB staff displayed serious lapses in judgment and a departure from the University's expectation of honest and ethical behavior," the school said in a statement.

Arizona received a notice of allegations - which reportedly included five Level I violations - from the NCAA following a federal investigation into the program's unethical recruiting practices in 2017.

Former assistant coach Emanuel Richardson, who admitted to accepting $20,000 in bribes, was one of numerous people arrested for their roles in the college basketball corruption scandal. Arizona head coach Sean Miller also faced allegations in two separate federal trials related to the FBI investigation, which focused on recruiting corruption, bribery, and fraud within college basketball.

"I understand and fully support the University's decision to self-impose a one-year postseason ban on our Men's Basketball program," Miller said through the school's release. "Our team will remain united and aggressively compete to win a PAC-12 championship."
